If you didn’t make it to the Peak to Peak Small Business Conference earlier this week, and are wondering if you should have, I would say an emphatic YES! The quality of the speakers and content was excellent. I made some great connections, learned a lot at each session, and left feeling very energized about Nederland and my business. Here is a brief overview of the sessions I attended.
COLLABORATIVE MARKETING: I was very impressed to learn about Longmont’s DDA and their work in promoting local shopping and a vital downtown. So many great ideas for things we can do in Ned!
THRIVE IN AN AMAZON WORLD: It was encouraging to see positive data relating to in-person retail at a time when there is so much talk about online shopping taking over. And so nice to know that Nederland retail provides the exact types of things people are looking for in shopping experiences.
CURATING YOUR SMALL TOWN BUSINESS MIX: This presentation about Victor, Colorado was very interesting —I think I might want to move there… Check this out: victorcore.com
GRASSROOTS MARKETING: This was about marketing on a budget. Very valuable information to apply to my own business, and to pass on to my clients.
FINANCIAL DECISION MAKING FOR THE BUSINESS OWNER: In the final session I attended Dana Edwards led a great discussion about making decisions in your business. A reminder of how often the ways we approach life are also the ways we approach our business.
After the structured part of the day there was beer and great conversation at Salto.
Thanks so much to Eileen Purdy and Katrina Harms for putting this together. I look forward to the next one. And you should too! It’s a great time to be in business in the Nederland area; and this conference was evidence to this.
If you would like to hear more about what I learned, get in touch. I’m happy to share more.
