There are so many magical and captivating places in Colorado. One of my favorites is Crested Butte! Every July they host a Wildflower Festival complete with programs including garden tours, art workshops, hikes and wildflowers in food and medicine.
Each year an original piece of artwork is selected to be used on the promotional posters. I’ve recently submitted my entry for the 2019 Poster Contest. Here is a little bit about my submission:
I am inspired by nature, and I love to work with tools, both physical and digital. This piece is created using digital tools - Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop. When working digitally I am focused on creating highly-textual images.
This poster design brings together some of the things I love most about Crested Butte: the powerful silhouette of Crested Butte Mountain, the old buildings (represented by the board texture), and the wildflowers. I’ve included Cinqefoil, Indian Paintbrush, Fleabane, Columbine, Fireweed, and Lupines.
